Anja van Mil of the Netherlands tells:
My husband has Parkinson’s disease, which according to the Parkinson’s Disease foundation is a chronic and progressive disorder that makes a person unable to control their movements normally.
In the beginning, my husband could continue walking up and down the stairs, but eventually as the symptoms progressed, this became very difficult and we knew it was time for a stairlift. It is of great importance that more and more older people stay at home and age in place. But as far as we are concerned, the house we live in now only has one floor because we can access both so easily!
